PORTRAIT OF A MEDIUM, INSCRIBED BY HER

CDV by Fredrick A. Hudson. Hudson started the movement of spiritualist photography in England just as Mumler did in the U.S. This is a portrait of his medium Georgiana Houghton, author of "Chronicles of Spirit Photography "(1882.) In Georgiana's hand on the verso this is numbered "28," dated July 11th 1872, titled "My own mediumship" and signed by her. Her portrait appears in another CDV by Hudson on p. 30 of "The Perfect Medium." The vertical mark to the right of her face is on the wall, not the print. Clean, slightly light. [3-]
