6 7/8" x 9" albumen print from Gardner's "Incidents of War." Negative by W. Morris-Smith [a rare photographer]. Interesting grouping of the 18 officers. Modern pencil inscription on verso identifies William S. Codman, Surgeon, as the person to the right of the left column. Other officers can be identified.
