This is "JIM FARLEY IS HOME FROM A MISSION," a 10" x 8" gelatin silver print by Larry Burrows, 1965, printed later. This moving Vietnam War image was part of an unprecedented 14 page photo story, "One Ride with Yankee Papa 13," published in the April 16, 1965 issue of LIFE, one the great early influential photojournalistic stories from Vietnam. In 1963 Burrows had made the first major LIFE cover story dealing with that war. He died in 1971.
