BLACK PANTHER FLUTE PLAYER

A 7 1/2" x 9 5/8" gelatin silver print by Charles Harbutt, 1968. A typed label applied to the verso: "Negro reed flute player, Ralph Thomas, who said that there are 60 Million rats in Chicago, and the gabbage [sic] is just picked up every month." Credit and agency stamp, other notations and torn label on verso. Very light impression of typed words show through at top, trivial crack. [3]
