13 3/4" x 10 3/4" gelatin silver print with Copyright stamp, another stamp, pencil notations and measurements on verso, as well as some glue residue on verso.

This is the famous portrait that appeared on the cover of LIFE on April 7, 1952. It is an important early print, within 10 years of the negative. Remarkably, given its use for publication, there are only trivial indications of handling on the surface, including a mild bend in the extreme lower right corner.

A very desirable early print of this iconic portrait, especially in this good condition. [D4-]
