7 5/8" x 9 1/2" gelatin silver print, flush mounted, dated 1929 and signed by Kertesz on the mat. Printed later. Some gremlin made the title in the catalog "The Broken Window." "BROKEN PLATE" IS THE CORRECT TITLE. It is of course the glass plate that was broken, not the window. [4]
