Extremely rare Weller bird cage in a mottled aqua high glaze. Incredibly intricate and detailed, this piece has a base that was presumably made for a Brighton bird to sit in. We have not seen another of these. Based on the detail and work involved to make this, we assume Weller didn't produce many. It has been consigned to us by a gentleman whose family was from Zanesville and worked for Weller. He remembers this piece as well as a white one just like it hanging out on the porch. Unmarked. The condition of this piece is amazing given its background and age with only a couple of factory glaze pops to the base. The interior of the cage does have a chip where the chain is screwed in. There is no overt damage or discoloration to the piece as it appears mint when displayed. 11" tall by 10 1/2" wide.
