Chest on frame, dovetailed yellow pine top, lid with applied molding, through tenons, original butterfly hinges, large rosehead nails, exterior with later blue paint, base single walnut dovetailed drawer with beaded lip, original brass pulls and escutcheon with engraved decoration, mounted on heavy frame with cyma returns and large 45-degree brace (possibly replacement), large open dovetails, scattered separations and stains, lacking lock in drawer, surfaced restored by John Bivins, top with MESDA label No. S-11068, late 18th century southern, Southern Virginia, 33 x 48 x 21" (Collection of John Bivins)
