Hinged to backing (rag) and to rag facing drawing; frame with abrasions. Provenance: Bob Timberlake Collection. This is a study for the tempera painting The Ides of March and depicts Andrew Wyeth's golden retriever Rattler sleeping in front of a fireplace in Wyeth's Mill, Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.
