AMERICAN INDIAN, NORTHERN CALIFORNIA CEREMONIAL DANCE APRON. Buckskin, with fringe at cut at bottom, the backskirt doubled over at the top and fringed. Rows of fringe have additional black and white beaded drops with larger trade yellow, blue, aqua, black and veined russet beads along with fringe, dimes, etc. A row of American dimes borders at the top of the fringe, earliest date 1845, latest 1873. Probably Hupa group (Karok, Klamath, Hupa, etc.) 29 1/2"l. 33"w.. From the Lakeside Heritage Society, Lakeside, Ohio.
