Lovely Nine Cents “Feuchtwanger” Strip Encased Postage
EP-95a. Nine Cents. Strip of Three 3˘ Stamps. “FEUCHTWANGER” Eagle Design on Rectangular Copper Case. About New.
This example of the uniquely designed, Later Produced and issued “Feuchtwanger” Encased Postage Nine Cents denomination. There are three George Washington 1863 issued 3˘ postage stamps that are a nice red and are displayed under a rectangular piece of natural clear mica. The mica is whole and unbroken with some scattered natural internal lamination and crazing present at the right third portion. The highly ornate glossy copper-chestnut toned case is extremely sharp with perfectly clear details and has virtually no trace of actual wear. A great example of this uniquely designed and highly popular Nine Cents “Feuchtwanger” Strip.
