Middle Kingdom, Dynasty XIII, 1938 - 1759 BC. A head panel of a coffin box. Painted with a yellow ochre ground with vertical and horizontal row s of hieroglyphic text in green detailed in black. Miter joint visible on edge. Intact with remaining dowels and some staining. H: 16 5/8", W: 15 ¼". Middle Kingdom coffin panels are quite scarce.
