note: The Wanderer was built in 1878 in Mattapoisett, Mass., 303 tons, 116' length, she was the last square-rigged whaleship in service when she put to sea August 15, 1924. A hurricane struck on August 16, 1924 and she was wrecked on the rocks off Cuttyhunk Island. Provenance: estate, Monrovia, CA
