Description
China, Han Dynasty, Western Han, ca. 206 BCE - 220 CE. A beautiful greyware terracotta mold-made duck effigy, standing face forward, with long neck and beak, incised eyes and mouth. Wings on either side of body, running from the chest to slightly over halfway to the back. Large wide tail and webbed feet. Beautiful pink pigment on wings, tail, and face. 14-1/2"H x 16"L.
Provenance: Ex-Private Southern California Collection.
