Item Details
Description
We are very pleased to offer this remarkable 1933 Webster Sterling Silver Birth Record Bell Pendant and 23" Chain Necklace for your bidding pleasure. This Bell Pendant has fabulous details that even include a working clapper! Take a close look ... The front has a BIRTH RECORD scroll bordering a Round faced Pendulum Clock, set on an octagonal base. The time is set at about 9:03 PM. The Pendulum indicates that it is PM. The clock weights are engraved with "S or 5 976" and "20ZS". MONTH is 7-20 and the YEAR is 33. And that is just the front. Wow! The Back of this historical Bell is marked STERLING and carries the mark for Webster Silver (since 1894) and an engraved "George Jr.". The connector between the pendant and the link for the chain is a detailed Sterling Belt Link. AND the belt link is connected to the chain with unusually shaped, curvy Link marked 800. Now, we can talk about the 23" chain necklace. Other Webster Birth Record Bells can be found online - most were attached to teething rings. But ours is attached to this wonderful chain necklace. It looks like Curb Style Chain with elongated disks, and it has a "double claw?" clasp/closure. It is really quite pretty. This is Sterling Silver Webster Bell pendant and necklace is sure to be a prized addition to a Vintage Sterling Silver jewelry collection. *** Weight: .75 oz. / 21.2 grams - Chain 23" long ***** History: "As its name suggests, the George K. Webster Silver Company was founded by George K. Webster in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, in 1869. The company created lines of sterling silver items, from small and intricate thimbles to large and exquisite candlesticks. These items illustrate the styles and tastes of the time periods "
