Letterpress title-page, 2-page "Avertissement", "Alphabetique et Explicative." (the latter quite spotted). 144 BRIGHT stipple-engraved plates BEFORE NUMBERS, printed in colors and finished by hand, by Langlois, Bessin, Chapuy, and Victor, after Redouté (some thinning and offsetting of original hand-color, plates 39 "Figue violette", 42 "Fritillire Imperiale", and 54 "Althea Frutex" with short closed tears intruding on the plate mark, plate 107 "Grenade" with a long closed tear affecting the image, some minor spotting). Contemporary French green morocco backed green glazed boards (rebacked preserving the original spine, extremities scuffed).
