BANISTER BACK ARMCHAIR. Old black paint over earlier red paint. Openwork crest over four split spindles. Stiles repeat pattern of spindles and have urn and ball finials. Arms end in scrolled handholds which are supported by vase turnings. Front, side and back stretchers have matching turnings. Paper rush seat. Pegged construction. Paint loss on base. Has age. 18"h. seat. 49"h. overall.
