(This item may only be sold within the state of Michigan, buyer must present a valid Michigan drivers liscence.)The large tapering cup with an irregularly-shaped rim is boldly carved in openwork utilizing the natural curve of the horn with flowers on leafy vines, further carved to depict birds. The hardwood stand carved to depict rats or squirrels at play among leafy branches hung with fruit, The horn is of honey-brown tone and dark brown at center. 20"H including the stand. According to the consignor this carving was purchased by his parents 40+ years ago from Sotheby's.
Condition: Chipping to rim of horn, tip of horn with light cracking. Stand with losses to back side. Condition consistent with age.
