Description
Marienberg, Germany, ca. 1895, This house appears on page 34 of the Ciesliks' reprint of the original Moritz Gottschalk catalogues, and is numbered under the base, 2444. Both the exterior and interior retain all original details, except for the loss of a small figural medallion from the projecting gable. The facade displays original red and white brick papers, painted trim with red accents, and the archetypical deep blue roof with white painted chimneys. The balcony is also painted blue and trimmed with Dresden paper. The interior is comprised of two small rooms, with alcoves incorporated in the front panel. Original wallpapers and borders, as well as floor papers, remain in excellent condition with very minor loss to baseboard paper and one border. Lovely original patterned cotton draperies coordinate with the papers and are crowned with poly-chromed molded cornices
