
Lorenzo Thomas Autograph
Description
On War Department letterhead from the Adjunct General's office, signed "L.Thomas" and dated February 3, 1863, special order number 55, for a leave of absence granted to Sergeant Lewis Taylor for a period of twenty days, framed together with a stereo card "Amputation Scene from Gettysburg" and a stereo card image of an embalming shack from "The War for the Union", with a sepia toned reprint of Lorenzo Thomas. Provenance: R.M. Smythe Holiday Autograph Auction, 11/30/95, Lot 29. 17 1/2" x 27", framed. Condition: two folds to the document, otherwise good , stereo cards in good condition with light discoloration to edges, not inspected out of the frame.
