American 19th C. gentleman’s walking stick in ebonized wood having a gold and gold quartz plaque mounted knob, the pommel bezel mounted with an octagonal gold quartz stone approximately 1-1/8” w, the edges of the stone are faceted, continuing to a circular grip having eight bezel mounted 1/2” wide oval plaques, continuing to an octagonal paneled shank, inscribed on alternating panels: “To Francis Blake, Esq./from Members & Employees/May 18th, 1871/B R Co“ the other four panels decorated with engraved chordate and paisley motifs. Knob approx. 2.5”h x 1.75”w, overall length approx. 36”, missing metal tip, octagonal plaque in good condition, no cracks or chips, three of the eight oval plaques have either cracks or minor losses. Some wear to the edges of the oval plaques, overall in good condition.
