Steinheil's Periskop by "Voigtländer & Sohn", 1865 No. 17832. The Periskop was Steinheil's first photographic lens and caused a sensation at that time. C. A. Steinheil took out an English patent for this lens. Voigtländer acquired 1865 a licence to produce the lens under his name. - Rare engraving, the only one known! - Literature: von Rohr, "Theorie und Geschichte des photographischen Objektives", Berlin 1899, p. 288.

"Steinheil's Periskop" von "Voigtländer & Sohn", 1865 Nr. 17832. Das Periskop war Steinheils erste Photooptik und erregte viel Aufsehen. C. A. Steinheil nahm darauf ein englisches Patent. Fr. Voigtländer erwarb 1865 die Fabrikationslizenz. In dieser Gravurausführung vermutlich das einzige dieser Art! - Literatur: von Rohr, "Theorie und Geschichte des photographischen Objektives", Berlin 1899, S. 288.
