Exceptional Antique Louis XVI Side Dining Chair Carved Gilt Reeded from Major Gulf Coast Estate. Chair was found in estate of high profile Gulf Coast patron of the arts who founded an Arts Center. The showplace home included period 18th century paintings and furniture. The chair was inherited by one of the children and was professionally conserved to formal standards, including complete refinishing, re-gilding and taupe shantung silk upholstery. We have yet to determine if the chair is 1790-1840 or 1890s, however it is antique and finely executed.

Displays overall surface wear, one acorn finial is chipped, some finish wear present, a couple of the feet have small splits in the wood, there’s a gauge ion one leg, upholstery has a few light stains, fabric underneath seat has been removed and staples and some fabric remnants remain
