Early Pratt Ware Pitcher with Mischievous Children, ca 1790, of earthenware with a bluish glaze, decorated in polychrome relief with scenes of mischievous children playing with a devil's mask on the reverse, and a boy, girl and spotted dog on the obverse, with characteristic acanthus leaf border on top and bottom; 7" high.
Felix Pratt worked from 1780-1820 in Fenton, Staffordshire. His work is characterized by the bluish tinge to the glaze, the style of modeling, and the quality of glazing. Condition reportNineteenth century staple repair to handle, few top rim chips, chip to foot rim.
