Early Victorian Secretary in the Gothic Revival Style, American, ca 1840-1865, mixed hardwoods. A massive 2-piece cabinet; upper section with 4 adjustable shelves behind 2 glazed doors having cobalt blue panes, lattice work mullions with carved, arched, gothic crests. Lower section having a full-width drawer incorporating a fall-front writing surface with interior gallery; all over 2 doors having applied gothic arched mouldings. Bold cornice moulding; stiles with an applied quarter-round barley twist moulding; refinished; 112" high x 58" wide x 19.5" deep.
