Description
American, circa 1900, hand crafted painted wood house finished on all sides with windows and front and back doors; The sliding front panel opens to reveal the 4 room interior with center hall on first and second floors. This house retains original curtains and half shades, painted oil cloth rug, green velvet portieres that hang in the doorways between rooms, dark varnished staircase with newel post, and several early pictures that have been permanently affixed to walls. As Mrs. Jacobs suggests, on page 58 of Antique Dolls' Houses, Flora Gill Jacobs © 2005 where this house is pictured and discussed, this modest house exemplifies and pays homage to this classic form of American architecture.
