American Revolution
1780 Revolutionary War Period “Acts and Laws... of New Hampshire”

March 1780, “ACTS AND LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW-HAMPSHIRE”, Choice Fine.
This printed booklet, measuring 13.5” x 8.75”, is a 27-page document recording the “Grants, Locations and Charters” within the State of New Hampshire. The original sewn binding remains mostly intact, with some possible missing back pages. The various official State Acts include, but are not limited to: building improvements, taxes and the selection of Generals in the Continental Army! An act was passed to tax each county, in order to pay the necessary taxes to the state to cover expenses. Each town has been given specific amounts of money to pay, and are listed within this document. The vast majority of this document is devoted to passing laws for more taxes, depicting the amount of money required to gain Independence.
