Invitation to "Mrs. B Pringle" for Lincoln’s Inaugural Ball The Second and Finest Example We Have Ever Offered March 4, 1861, Invitation to President Abraham Lincoln’s first Inaugural Union Ball, Printed by Philip and Solomons of Washington, DC, Choice Extremely Fine. The 8.25” x 9.625” cardstock invitation has been fully issued and is beautifully encased in a 15.5” x 19.5” gold-gilt frame with elaborate leaf work border. This extremely rare invitation is to the most historically significant Presidential Inauguration in US history, on the eve of the Civil War. An amazing and rare piece of United States and Political history. The most recent example of this type of exceedingly rare 1861 Abraham Lincoln Inaugural Ball Invitation we offered was in our June 10, 2006 EAHA Auction, Lot #584, graded Very Fine, which sold at $9,440.
