Description
Gilt Spelter Figural Mantel Clock, 19th c., time and strike, with an urn and garland surmount over a bookcase, atop a drum clock retailed by Dupont and Cie, flanked by two figures, one holding a purse, one a paper, presented on an ebonized dome base, Clock- H.- 13 in., W.- 12 1/2 in., D.- 5 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. Moderate wear to the gilt throughout, especially on the base and the top of the clock drum. There are paper numerals (13-24) affixed to the clock face to make it a 24 hour clock. There are cracks on the back of the spelter leaves at the feet of the figures (some repaired with gold paint). Clock not tested for working order. Pendulum and key not included.
