David Levine (1926-2009) Artist, illustrator. Levine's drawings of politicians, celebrities, writers and historical figures typically had large heads and exaggerated features. His drawings defined the look of The New York Review, he contributed more than 3,800 drawings to the Review. Levine's work also appeared in Esquire, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated and The New Yorker, among other publications. 8 ½†x 10 ½†copy of his painting, Crowd at Ebbets Field, signed in the lower margin. There is a separate sheet upon which Levine has identified four of the individuals in the painting including his father Harry and himself.
