American (New Hampshire), 19th century. A salt glazed stoneware crock of three-gallon size by S. Taft & Company of Keene, New Hampshire, decorated with a cobalt bird and having applied handles, stamped S. Taft & Company / Keene N.H. / 3, accompanied by a wooden lid and dasher with crossed agitator; crock ht. 13.5, dasher lg. 37 in.

Provenance: From the Estate of Kenneth Erwin, Portland, Michigan

Condition

Discoloration and chips around bottom edge. Chips on rim. Hairlines. Some pitting and flaking to glaze.
