A beautiful damascene crook cane by Toledo

Item Details

Description

A beautiful damascene crook cane by Toledo. The steel crook handle measures about 7” along the arc and is 7/8” at its widest. It is fashioned with fancy curved fluting at the end of the crook, and it is decorated in gold with dragons, flowers, vines and fancy geometric designs on a black background. It is done in the damascene style of Toledo, in Spain. The shaft is black lacquered hardwood that ends with a 3/4” brass ferrule. The overall length is 36” and the condition is very good. It was probably fashioned in France with an imported handle, ca 1895. It is a wonderful decorative example. Estimate: $1500-$2500
