Description
A very nice thin malacca sword cane curio. The crook malacca handle measures about 4 1/2” along the arc and is 1/3” thick. The end of the crook is overlaid with thin horn that is inlaid with a silver “C” as well as a tiny silver sunburst under a tulip blossom that may be maker’s marks. A thin 14 3/4” sword can be withdrawn from a juncture below the handle. The sword has diamond configuration and there is worn bluing and gilding. The malacca shaft ends with a 2/3” metal ferrule. The overall length is 34 1/2” and the condition is very good. It is perhaps Continental, ca 1885, and it is of the size that some refer to as a lady’s cane. It is a fine example of the kind. Estimate: $500-$700
