Description
A wonderful early English ivory pique cane. The ivory handle is 2 7/8” high and 1 1/3” in diameter. It has some incised carving at the top and it is elaborately decorated with tiny hollow silver pique spherules fashioned in lines, circles, and diamonds with a beautiful result. There is a 2/3” scalloped silver collar punch- decorated in lines and starbursts on a malacca shaft with round silver eyelets, and a 4 1/4” long burnished brass ferrule. The overall length is 36 3/4” and the condition is very good with all of the pique apparently intact. It is ca 1705, and it is a marvelous example of the type. Estimate: $5500-$7500
