Description
A very fine ivory and silver faux bamboo cane. The pistol grip ivory handle is 2 1/3” high, 2 3/4” to the side and 1 1/3” at its thickest. It is fashioned as a bamboo root with overlaid, round silver spherules as highlights. There is a 1 1/2” silver collar fashioned in graduated steps to match the stepped ivory “bamboo”. The collar is inscribed with three initials for the original owner and “925/1000 fine” for the sterling silver content. The shaft is scarred medlar that ends with a 1” replaced brass ferrule. The overall length is 34 1/2” and the condition is very good. It is probably American, ca 1885, and it is from the Dr. Michael Roth Collection. Estimate: $1000-$1500
