Villanovan, c.7th Century BC. A bronze bracelet comprised of two thickly wound bronze coils at either end of simple rounded bronze band. Intact and attractive with attractive apple green patina. S: 2.5". The Villanovans were the Iron Age predecessors of the Etruscans and are known for their skill in working bronze. They are named after a modern town near Bologna, Italy and settled the area of Etruria by the 11th century BC, later to be assimilated by the Etruscans.
