Africa, Upper Volta, Bobo/Gurunsi. A "Do" mask. This tall mask embraces human, animal and geometric motifs. Similar to the Mossi Wango masks, a "face", likely representing an Antelope is surmounted by a standing female figure, H: 26 ½" by itself. The piece is polychromed, red & white predominating. L: 45 ½". A very decorative piece!
