Limited Edition Size: Ap50. __________artist Biography: Shlomo Alter’s Work Is Influenced By His Early Recollections Of The Elegantly Dressed People Gathered In The Courtyard Of His Parents’ Restaurant In Bucharest, Rumania Eating Drinking And Dancing To The Music Of The Gypsy Bands, And Enjoying The Convivial Atmosphere. With An Air Of Hope And Optimism, Alter’s Art Reflects The Joys Of Life, An Antithesis To The Nazi Regime That Shattered His Childhood Happiness. His Paintings Are Like A Stage Set, At Once Motionless And Waiting To Burst Into Action. The Artist's Unique Vision And Personality Come Through In Each Of His Works. He Draws On A Wide Array Of Colors To Tell His Stories, Employing Vivid And Exuberant Pigments As His Vocabulary. Alter Utilizes An Incredible Range Of Artistic Techniques; He Works In Mixed Media, Including Ink Drawing, Gouache, Watercolor, Oil, Silkscreen, Painted Sculpture, And Most Recently - Computer Graphics. Alter Was Born In Romania To A Family Of Restaurateurs, And Immigrated To Israel In 1948. He Continued Painting All The While, While Being Mentored By World-famous Marcel Janco. Finally, He Quit His Job And Dedicated Himself Entirely To Art.
