typically inscribed on the hinged lid with a perpetual calendar dated '1764' with simple line descriptions of saints, (?)owner's name to front, the back engraved with an unknown scale, erroneously dated for 1497 and 1482 -- 7in. (18cm.) diameter

Recent research has demonstrated that the commonly-engraved perpetual calendars invariably include the year they were made in the last four lower-right spaces on the grid.

Good structural condition, lid opens and closes well. Some areas a little over-polished with faint inscriptions, but mostly in good order.
