Item Details
Description
AN EARLY 19TH-CENTURY SAILOR'S MODEL FOR A 10-GUN BRIG
the carved hull with teak deck, fittings including anchors with ropes, sail winches, six turned brass guns in red-painted stepped trucks, belaying rails, bilge pumps, grating etc., the twin raked masts with gaffs, yards and boom, sail rings, standing and running rigging with blocks, mounted on wooden display stand -- overall measurements 18 x 19in. (46 x 48cm.)
Condition
Model appears to be in largely original condition with little sign of repair or restoration. Consequently the hull is time stained, deck dusty and some of the rigging has parted or slack, undoubtedly a result of not having been cased.
