inflatable balloon globe, twelve feet in circumference, formed of 2 sets, upper and lower, of lithographed half-gores, with original hand-colouring on tissue-thin paper, diameter c.120cm, when inflated, some browning to crowning zodiac panel, handling creases as is usual, folding into contemporary cardboard box with publisher's pictorial label mounted on lid, rubbed, Bristol, c.1830. A well preserved example of the largest of 3 sizes of this scarce and unusual inflatable balloon globe, invented by George Pocock and drawn by Ebenezer Pocock.
