Interesting pair of 5 inch candleholders in the form of morning glory flowers and leaves, a William McDonald design, cast in 1922. The pair is covered with a glossy green over brown glaze, providing a striking effect. Marked with the Rookwood symbol, the date and shape 2513. Originally, each was capped with a molded point, onto which was impaled a candle. The points have been broken off and a metal apparatus added to hold the candle. Wonderful glaze.
