Rookwood French Red floral, Sax 1920, 17 1/2

Large and impressive French Red vase with stylized hollyhock decoration done by (Who Else!) Sara Sax in 1920. The flowers which encircle the vase, are done in French red, orange and a light blue with incising for delineation. The interior is lined in a rich purple porcelain glaze. Marks include the Rookwood logo and date, shape number 2523 and the impressed monogram of the artist. Height 17 1/2 inches. Uncrazed and very clean.
