Vellum Glaze 9 1/4 inch vase showing a maritime scene of waves crashing against a rocky shoreline beneath a stormy sky, the work of Ed Diers in 1913. Marked with the Rookwood symbol, the date, shape 1126 C, an impressed V for Vellum and the artist's incised monogram. There is regular overall crazing. A drill hole to the base, which partially removed the shape number, has been professionally restored. The unusual subject has been very nicely handled by Mr. Diers.
