Standard Glaze 7 1/2 inch vase, decorated in 1894 by Ed Abel, who painted yellow violets around the vase, which was then enhanced with a nicely detailed silver overlay, by the Gorham Company. The base is marked with the Rookwood symbol, which provides the date, shape 689 F, a W for white clay and the artist's incised initials. The silver bears the Gorham Mfg. Co. logo and their hallmark. There is fine overall crazing to the pottery and the silver appears to be in excellent condition.
