This example of the uniquely designed, Later Produced and issued “Feuchtwanger” Encased Postage Nine Cents denomination. There are three George Washington 1863 issued 3¢ postage stamps that are a nice red and are displayed under a rectangular piece of natural clear mica. The mica itself remains whole, unbroken with some scattered natural internal laminations. The highly ornate glossy copper-chestnut toned case is extremely sharp with perfectly clear details and has virtually no trace of actual wear.
