1860 Abraham Lincoln Silk Presidential Campaign Ribbon, Printed in Black upon White Silk, Early “Beardless” Abraham Lincoln Vignette, Very Fine.
This wonderful, highly decorative 2.25” x 7.5” Black Print upon White Silk Presidential Campaign Ribbon was issued for the historic 1860 Abraham Lincoln, Republican Presidential Campaign. A large handsome central portrait of a “Beardless” Abe Lincoln, also known as the “Rail Splitter Candidate” with legends that read, “REPUBLICAN WIDE AWAKES, FOR PRESIDENT, ABRAHAM LINCOLN OF ILLINOIS.” There is a 1.25" fine horizontal split in the central silk that appears easy to reinforce. This is a very rare major variety is overall well printed and quite clean making it an excellent Campaign Ribbon for display.
