Bronze memorial plaque commemorating the destruction of the USS Maine. Tablet depicts Columbia holding shield of patriotism with text "In Memoriam USS Maine Destroyed In Havana Harbor February 15, 1898 This Tablet Is Cast From Metal Recovered From the USS Maine". Tablet measures 13" x 17.5" and was cast by John William, Inc., NY in 1913. Tablet exhibits heavy verdigris with two drilled holes at upper and lower center with some text involvement at lower.
