The present elegant Ottoman water jug ??of tinned copper dates from the 19th century. It has a rounded body which strongly tapers to the opening at the top. The handle, on which is attached the lid, was soldered.
At one side of the neck, just beneath the opening, there is a punched signature. Apart from the usual wear marks, the jug is in good condition. The tin coating is rubbed off in places. The lid is slightly warped, and the neck has a small hole. Normally, this kind of jug comes with a basin, which is missing here. The dimensions are 36.5 x 23.3 cm. The diameter of the mouth is 6.5 cm, and at the base it measures 13 cm. The Ibrik weighs about 1.9 kilograms.
