In Japan the ichimatsu puppets were usually seen as toys and life-long accompanies; very often they got buried with their owners.
The puppet is very well preserved, completed and in original condition, okappa hair style, the hair falling to shoulders, with round face and friendly features, inlaid eyes, attired in a miniature kimono, and three under kimono (juban, hadagi and koshimaki), obi (belt), hand-sewed robe, of very good condition.
